BRBMDC Innaugural Draft Test
Fabulous draft weekend everyone! Thanks so much for all your help to make everything work so nicely. Cindy,,,,,whoa girl! Those were some incredible lunches! Suzanne, you make one heck of a draft chair. You are GREAT with details, and you picked the most perfect location on the planet-Hagan Stone ROCKS! Kris,,,oh man,,,,those trophies were just beautiful! Kris and Rich both, it was really great to have you there to help with the stewarding positions and to help with the grunt work. EJ, thanks as always, for all your support and grunt work. Betsy's Raffle was a huge success raising much needed funds for the draft test. Thanks to all who supported our raffle,,,and how the heck did Eden and Cindy win so much!!!!!!! Of course, then there were the Mitchells, who I think may have had the overall raffle win count.

Thanks sooooo much to Carolyn Smith (CVA member) who made my secretary job so much easier. Carolyn drove all the way from Salem, VA just to help. Hope to see her here competing next year. Thanks too, to the Mitchell's from the Central Virginia Club, again traveling from afar just to help and hang out. Thanks to Bill Djang for his perfection in measuring our narrows for
each team. Thank too, to Bonnie Conrad, who is always there to lend a helping hand. There were others, Carolyn Paige, Diane Robinson, Don and Tracy Robertson,,,,,who have I missed???

I so totally appreciate Ray Crockett's (CVBMDC member) help teaching our members how to handle the head steward's position and, the incredible patience of our judges Jenny Durrance, Carolyn Crockett and Eden Jonas. They really helped me get through this, so that next year will be a breeze.

It was great to meet the McCune's. John was our official photographer both days, and is loading his pictures to
http://mtber.smugmug.com/Pets/Blue-Ridge-Bernese-Mountain/Draft-Test-March-2011/16260288_XxhRE#1221521046_t8DQR So far, the pictures are fabulous!

Results were - Saturday - One of the two open teams passed and six of the ten novice teams passed. Sunday - On of the three open teams passed and three of the six novice teams passed.

In general, I couldn't have imagined how well this test worked out and am so proud of the hard working Blue Ridge members who made it happen. Planning starts now for next years test. Hope to see even more entries, and more fans there. If this weekend is any indication of how our draft tests will go, this is going to be an incredible annual event for this club.
