Meekah is a spayed female with a sweet disposition but doesn't get along with some other dogs. She would love to become part of a calmer family without others pets or children. She is 2 years old and located in South Carolina.
Meekah is seeking a forever home where she is the only dog. She is an excellent dog with kids. My young children 5yr old boy and 3 year old girl both loved meekah deeply. And she loved them. She never once snipped or snarled at the kids. Even though they were you and apt to try to use her as a place to hang onto or climb onto. She would stand her ground and look around with a face that said “ yep, this is what I am made for..... um. Ok. Are you done yet?”
Some quirks of hers. She LOVES food. In her feeding routine, when she would see me going to the food bin she would follow me and then start shaking her head flapping her hears loudly with excitement.
She in not a chewer and does not destroy household things. But she will sneak your food off your plate if you’re not looking. Not a big fan of swimming either. But she does love boat rides and being with her people.
Her downside was her focus on territory. When I first got her, the focus was her food dish. This was corrected over time. But then her focus became the household indoor/outdoor cat. From playing with the cat, to watching out the window for the cat, then ultimately wanting to be the only dog near the cat. It became the problem when she got too protective of my other dogs when they walked passed the cat.
Please contact the Rescue Coordinator if you can help find a new home for Meekah.
